Housing Report — New Housing Units Built

New housing units built 2000-2022

New housing units built remained higher than 2008-2020 units built, but were lower than 2021 due to fewer new apartment units. A total of 17,948 units were built from 2013 to 2022, significantly less than the 24,012 new housing units built from 2003-2012.

Type of new housing units built, 2010-2022

The number of new multi-family units increased significantly in 2021 from 2020. While lower than 2021 figures, 2022 new apartments built remained higher than previous years.

New housing units built by municipality, 2022

New apartment unit construction drove Phoenixville, East Whiteland, and West Vincent to have the highest number of new units constructed in 2022.

West Goshen (91 units), West Brandywine (89 units), and East Pikeland (75 units) had the highest number of new single-family detached units.

Phoenixville (157 units), West Whiteland (101 units), and Upper Uwchlan (86) added the most new single-family attached units.
