The Chester County Planning Commission features a list of planning eTools for municipalities (and others) to find helpful information regarding a variety of planning topics.
The eTools include a quick overview of each topic, an explanation of how it works, considerations for implementation, and examples (when they're available).
New eTools are added regularly based on current trends, with the most recent being bicycle and pedestrian facilities (both design and policy), parking facilities (both design and planning), and roadway connectivity.
The list includes nearly 100 eTools, which can be searched alphabetically or by planning topic. The tools range from large-scale topics, like infill development and zoning overlays, to smaller-scale topics, like backyard chicken keeping and outdoor lighting.
