Posted November 14, 2024
The Chester County Planning Commission hosted the 2024 Housing Forum — A Convening of Housing Organizations in October, bringing together officials from nearly 40 housing organizations throughout the county.
The forum was led by CCPC's Senior Housing and Economic Planner, Libby Horwitz, with welcoming remarks from the Chester County Commissioners.
During the forum attendees took part in various networking activities, working together to review the county's current housing programs and resources, identify gaps, and develop concrete next steps for collaboration to address housing unaffordability. They discussed strengths, weaknesses, opportunities such as future funding, and barriers.
The county's Department of Community Development Director, Dolores Colligan, and CCPC's Sustainability Director, Rachael Griffith, also provided updates regarding current and potential opportunities for housing collaboration.
"It's imperative that we work together to increase housing options for all our residents and employees," noted Horwitz. "We look forward to seeing the collaborations and efforts that come as a result of this convening."
The county continues to address housing needs through various initiatives across departments. Learn more about CCPC's housing initiatives, including best practices, tools, and data.
