Caroline Deyrup

As someone who's always taken an interest in planning (and loves Chester County), Caroline fits right in here at the Chester County Planning Commission!

Currently, Caroline is working on an open space project where she's determining which open spaces have legal protections; she's also researching how to conduct a waste audit for the county government buildings through CCPC's Sustainability Division. "This project is super exciting to me and is my favorite one I've done thus far," she notes.

After taking an urban planning course during her time abroad in Copenhagen, Caroline knew she wanted to get involved in local planning. Last summer, she interned at the Chester County Conservation District and loved it: "I wanted to keep working for Chester County because I think it's a special place with truly awesome people," she added.

Caroline looks forward to working with as many people at CCPC as possible. "Everyone is very knowledgeable about what they do. It's already been so informative talking to different people about their jobs,"" she says. In addition to her current projects, Caroline wrote an article for CCPC's latest Sustainability eNewsletter about the Chester County Envirothon.

In her spare time, Caroline can often be found at the Northbrook Canoe Company where she works on weekends and enjoys exploring the magical Brandywine River. She also enjoys listening to music, reading, and being outdoors. Despite her many talents, Caroline admits she's had a recent struggle when it comes to baking.

Originally from Wilmington, DE, Caroline recently moved to Downingtown. When asked what her favorite song or quote is, she replied, "My favorite song changes every day, but right now it is a tie between "Is This What You Wanted" by Leonard Cohen and "Aztec" by Bo Diddley.

We look forward to continuing to work with Caroline and seeing what her future holds!
